Birthday Card

Hello Everyone,

First of all I must say I am so sorry for such a long time between my posts this time, Its been so busy these last few weeks I just have been working from getting up early to going to bed rather late. So a big SORRY .

Today I am showing you a card which I was going to demo on Friday the 6th March on Create and Craft but we didn't get chance to get to my 2nd demo so I thought I would do it on here for you all. I know the flowers have sold out with Create and Craft now so please bear with us until we get more.

First of all I started with a 14cm square card blank in cream. On the opening side I then cut it at 7. 5cm and the bit of cream I cut off I then cut that to 3 cm, this will be added back onto the card a bit later on.
I then cut a piece of the backing paper from Creative cards cd  which I had printed on cream paper, to 6 cm wide and 14cm long, then cut a flag on the bottom of this paper, then attach to a slightly bigger piece of cream card and trim leaving a narrow border.
Now back to the base card, cut a piece of backing paper to fit the top part of the card and also the small bit which is 3 cm wide, leaving a narrow border, I have distressed the edges of the backing paper with gathered twigs distress ink pad. I also did this on the flag part for the middle of the card.
Now attach the pointed part of the flag piece to the narrow 3cm piece of card approx in the middle I used cosmic shimmer glue so it sticks quickly.when this has dried level  the top part of the card with the 3cm part thus leaving a gab in the middle for added interest, glue again with cosmic shimmer, being careful not to put glue on all the flag piece., Trim across the top of the card to make it all level. Now I cut a die cut circle, edged  with distress ink. Attach this to the centre of the card,, then add a little of the web from the Dreamees Twines and Things set.  Now I have used Divine doodles stamp set ,stamped with gathered twigs distress ink pad. arranged on the bottom of the die cut to make a nice arrangement. Stamped a little Happy Birthday sentiment added this across the die cut again to add a little extra interest. Then just twirling some of the twine again from the Twines and Things set around my tweezers to hold in the swirl add these to the sides of the flowers using hot glue, also adding a little bow in the centre at the bottom of the card. Then just add some Dreamees pearls to the centre of all the flowers and then 3 on each side at the top of the card.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at this card and I hope you can try it too.

Have fun

There`s no place like home.

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well and keeping warm and safe from all this wind we are having lately.

First of all I must say Thank you for some great shows on Create and Craft we have 4 already in January and they have all been amazing, and we thank each and every one of you for making this happen.

Today I am sharing a frame I have made and I did demo this on Create and Craft last Friday, the product sold out so Im afraid you will have to wait until it is back in stock if you missed it this time.

The products I have used is :
Decorative Plaques Mdf set including Dotty Alphabet Stamp Set.
Pretty Papers Shabby Chic and Rustic
Ditsy Stitches Stamp set.
Rustic Ribbon collection
Pearls
Distress ink pad Gathered Twigs
Cuttables cd rom

First of all I covered all the bars (slats) of mdf in the paper from the cd, I used collall glue and spread it to the end of the wood to make sure it stuck right to the ends. I then crossed the bars over I did glue these in place then used the twine from the rustic ribbon collection to add a bit of criss cross detail to the corners.
I then stamped the sentiment onto  a square of paper again from the cd  using gathered twigs distress ink pad just distressed around the edge of the paper, matt and layered this onto kraft card, using the crop o dile I punched in each corner then added the twine to each hole leaving the knot on the outside, then attaching these to each corner of the frame to hold in place.
I then used the ditsy stamp set and stamped these onto yellow and the blue paper different sizes of the flowers in the gathered twigs ink pad, cut them out leaving a little border, added a little pearl to the centre of each flower, arranging these in the left hand corner of the frame. I then cut the swirl from the cuttables cd using the brother scan and cut machine.
Finally adding pearl to the overlapping bits of the frame in the corners for added detail.

I hope you enjoy this post and return soon.

Thanks for looking

Happy New Year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well and had a lovely Christmas and New Year, we did it was lovely to have a lie in on Christmas Day then open our presents and chill with dinner, then the work began just after dinner why change the habit of a life time ha ha.

I have a project to show you today which will be a sample on  our shows at Create and Craft tomorrow Friday the 2nd at 11 am with Leonie and then 7 pm with Martyn.

The project used is a mdf teapot shape available here  on this one I have used papers from the back to basics cd available here , then I have used flowers from a new set on stamps available here on create and craft tomorrow. I simply covered the mdf with one of the papers from the cd using collall glue and spread the glue with my finger to the edges so it covered evenly, then wait a few minutes for it to dry then cut around the shape with either scissors or a craft knife whicever you find easier, to be honest I use a bit of both.
I then distressed the edges of the shape with gathered twigs distress ink pad. I then just cut a piece of cream card and paper and matt and layered this across the middle, stamped the flowers out onto the paper from the cd printed on cream paper cut those out and layered up to make some nice 3d flowers to add dimension. I also printed the sentiment from the new cd pretty papers available on create and craft along with the stamps in a bundle well worthy having its a great price. I added some lace below the card I matt and layered added the sentiment on top of that added the flowers to the left side added pearls to the centre of each flower. ties a ribbon bow which is from the rustic ribbon collection again on create and craft. I also added a flower to the top of the teapot for the lid. Then I hot glued some of the string of pearls from the rustic ribbon collection across the top to make the difference to the lid.
I hope you like this new project, and can tune in for our live shows tomorrow 2nd Jan at 11 am and 7 pm.
Thank you so much for your continued support of Dreamees we couldn't do any of this without all our lovely customers.

Have a great 2015.

Love Carol xx

Christmas Mittens

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all well and progressing nicely with all the christmas things we need to get done, Im afraid I am so behind with things this year, but I think as long as we can have a lie in christmas day and chill a bit through the day that will be great for us all here.

Today I thought I would share with you some Christmas Mittens I have made using Dreamees MDF mini mittens, they are now  on our christmas tree and they look lovely even thought I do say so myself he he .

The actual mini mittens I have used are available here

I have used papers from our simply christmas cd rom in pink available here I have just glued the paper on with cosmic shimmer glue and trimmed around the mittens when dry, then distressed the edges with gathered twigs distress ink pad  just to give a used brown look on the edges. I then used a quickie glue pen available here and added glitter across the join of the plain pink paper to the patterned paper. I then added a silver snowflake charm with a gem on the top too to add a bit of interest, I also used a piece of twine to add a bow, a little tiny pink button and a couple of twirled strips of paper for a bit of interest to the join part, I then added more twine to tie the 2 mittens together.

These mitten could also be used for maybe a new baby for a nice handmade gift.

Thank you for looking today and I hope you like the project, all of the items can be purchased from Dreamees at www.dreamees.org.uk

Have a nice day

Carol xx
